Lights, camera, Christmas!
Whip out your cameras and smartphones, and get ready for the must-see Christmas On A Great Street at Orchard Road.
For six weeks from the middle of November, Orchard Road is at its most enchanting, transformed into a sparkling fairyland when night falls. It’s every shutterbug’s dream, full of magical memories (and snapshots!).
Sparkling nights
You’ll get a good eyeful of what must be millions of glittering lights dripping from decorated trees and majestic arches, all along this 2.2-kilometre stretch from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura.
See if you can spot your favourite building façade, as Orchard Road’s malls and hotels try to outshine each other for the coveted Best Dressed Building award.
Crowd-pleasers include Centrepoint, Tangs and Orchard Central. Expect fantastic festive decorations, from giant bows and fairy-tale castles to mechanised reindeer and nutcracker soldiers.
Like a Christmas carnival
You’ll have fun with the myriad of street performances that take place at this special time, creating a wonderful carnival-like atmosphere. Shoppers will also enjoy the precinct-wide promotions and other exciting events here.
Kids will especially love the 'snow' at Tanglin Mall, which has been turned into a wintry wonderland every festive season since 1996, as well as the giant Christmas trees that go up at Ngee Ann City and ION Orchard.
