Gwyneth Paltrow’s Vagina Candle Exploded

In UK Woman’s Living Room
Gwyneth Paltrow and her This Smells Like My Vagina candle

Gwyneth Paltrow’s vaginal candle was apparently too hot to handle for some folks. Well, at least for one woman in the UK. Jody Thompson of Kilburn, North London, told The Sun said she won the anatomically- inspired candle — called This Smells Like My Vagina — sold by Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop, in an online quiz.

The candle retails for US$75 (S$100) and its aroma is described to contain a “blend of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed.”

Thompson, 50, a media consultant, said that after she lit the candle, a “50cm flame” leapt from the wick and out of the glass jar. She told the paper, “The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere. I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room.”

This Smells Like My Vagina Candle

With a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent, this candle is made with geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed to put us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.

Candles are made with 100% natural unbleached cotton wicks which require special attention. Please take care to trim to 1/8” before every use.

WARNING: BURN CANDLE WITHIN SIGHT. KEEP AWAY FROM THINGS THAT CATCH FIRE. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS. TRIM WICK TO 1/8” BEFORE EVERY LIGHTING. PLACE ON A STABLE, HEAT RESISTANT SURFACE. KEEP WAX POOL FREE OF DEBRIS. DO NOT BURN FOR MORE THAN TWO HOURS AT A TIME. ALLOW GLASS TO COOL COMPLETELY BEFORE HANDLING.

Gwyneth Paltrow Wants To Remove "Shame" From Women's Privates With Vagina Candle
'The Goob Lab' wants to end the stigma round female sexuality with her US$75 candle

Gwyneth Paltrow wanted to take the "shame" out of women's private parts when she named her Goop candle 'This Smells Like My Vagina'. The 47-year-old actress debuted the US$75 (S$104) candle on her Goop website last month, and has said she chose to name the wax creation after her privates because she wanted to end the stigma around female sexuality.

Speaking to John Legend as he guest hosted The Ellen Degeneres Show on Friday (Feb 14), she said: "The idea [is] that women have been taught to have a certain amount of shame about their body. So, if you just light a candle that says 'This Smells Like My Vagina', and put it on the coffee table, it's kind of a punk rock statement."

Paltrow candle — which actually smells of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar —sold out immediately when it went on sale in mid-January, and it was previously claimed that Sir Elton John was one of the product's biggest customers.

Lol. I didn't "throw it out of the front door" (it was too hot to pick up) and the photo is awful (you try taking a selfie without a selfie stick holding a charred vagina candle) but still:

Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina-scented candle exploded in Jody Thompson's living room

A VAGINA-scented candle by Gwyneth Paltrow exploded into flames causing an “inferno” in a woman’s living room. Jody Thompson, 50, won the risque product sold by the Hollywood star and wellness guru in an online quiz.

The candle is described on Gwyneth’s Goop site as “funny, gorgeous, sexy and beautifully unexpected”. But Jody was taken by surprise after lighting it when a 50cm flame leapt from the candle and out of the glass jar. The media consultant told The Sun: “The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere.

"I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room.” Jody who lives with partner David Snow in Kilburn, North London, said: “We eventually got it under control and threw it out the front door.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Vagina Candle Reportedly Exploded, Starting an “Inferno” in a Woman's Living Room

Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina-scented candle wrought havoc on the life of one British woman when her little bit of mood lighting turned into a roaring blaze.

Jody Thompson of Kilburn, North London told The Sun that she won the anatomically-inspired home good in an online quiz, but got more than she bargained for when she went to light it. “The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere," she said. "I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room.” However, eventually, Thompson said she and her partner, David Snow, “We eventually got it under control and threw it out the front door." The media consultant added, “It could have burned the place down. It was scary at the time, but funny looking back that Gwyneth’s vagina candle exploded in my living room.” Thompson also shared photos with the outlet of the aftermath, showing the melted and warped gold label on the black glass container.

Paltrow's debut $75 candle in her collaboration with Heretic sold out within a matter of hours last year, prompting her to launch a second yoni-centric scent this summer—“This Smells Like My Orgasm.” The scent of the Goop vagina candle is composed of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed and is meant to be “funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected.” And what could be more beautifully unexpected than a shower of sparks flying all over the living room every time you light it?

Why is Gwyneth Paltrow selling a candle that smells like her vagina?
Gwyneth’s vagina has been good to us … and to her. Composite: Goop & Netflix

Truly, has any vagina ever been as fruitful as Gwyneth Paltrow’s? It has birthed discussions of vaginal steaming, vaginal jade eggs, $15,000 dildos, something called “sex dust” and a photo of Gwyneth standing in a giant vagina to advertise some inevitable Netflix documentary/reality TV series crossover. Because Gwyneth no longer has just her head up her vagina; she has crawled all the way inside. I am torn between suggesting this is a very advanced yoga position accessible only to those who have endless free time to practise, and pointing out this is The Human Centipede, but for extreme narcissists. Let’s go with both.

So Gwyneth has made a candle called This Smells Like My Vagina because, well, of course she has. It is priced at a comparatively bargain £58, which was pretty much what the sex dust cost, which makes me think Gwyneth is underpricing her vagina, really, if she is just selling it for the price of a load of old dust. And I say “was what the sex dust cost” because the sex dust, like the vagina candle, sold out.

Yes, Gwyneth’s vagina has been good to us, but it has primarily been good to her. Well, in the main. As all of us ladies know, sometimes there can be problems in that department, and while most of us sort ours out with a dose of Canesten, Gwyneth’s vagina problem, in classic Gwyneth fashion, ended up costing her $145,000 (£110,000). This was in 2018 when her near-notorious wellness company, Goop, was fined under California’s civil penalties laws for making what was described as “unsubstantiated” marketing claims about the aforementioned jade egg. It turns out, incredibly, that shoving a random object up your vagina won’t “balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles, prevent uterine prolapse and increase bladder control”.

Beware the Vagina Candle

Gwyneth Paltrow’s infamous vagina candle is meant to smell like geranium, bergamot, and cedar, but a new report suggests that it might also waft the scent of London resident Jody Thompson’s living room almost catching fire. The Sun reports that Thompson won her very own vagina candle in an online quiz, but when she decided to light up the $75 votive, things took a surprisingly dark turn. “The candle exploded and emitted huge flames, with bits flying everywhere,” she told the outlet. “I’ve never seen anything like it. The whole thing was ablaze and it was too hot to touch. There was an inferno in the room.”

Candle explosions happen, but thankfully, Thompson and her partner were able to tame the fiery vagina candle before things got dire. “We eventually got it under control and threw it out the front door,” she continued. “It could have burned the place down. It was scary at the time, but funny looking back that Gwyneth’s vagina candle exploded in my living room.” The specificity is funny, but a Goop spokesperson told The Post that Thompson’s “Gwyneth’s vagina candle” wasn’t purchased through the outlet, so they’re unable to verify that it is an authentic Gwyneth’s Vagina Candle.

Still, the brand has alerted the candle’s manufacturer just in case. To be fair, Goop’s candle descriptions shout, “KEEP AWAY FROM THINGS THAT CATCH FIRE” (e.g., the majority of one’s living room), and we must remember that all candles, vagina-scented or otherwise, are trying to kill us in the end. Maybe check out those vagina-scented roll-ons.

Gwyneth Paltrow Finally Explains Why She Made Vagina-Smelling Candles- It’s Not What You Would Have Expected

If there’s one thing which has taken the internet by storm then that is Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina smelling candle. Produced by her lifestyle company Goop, the vagina smelling candle sold out soon after it was put on sale. But internet demanded to know what prompted her to make and sell it. Martha Stewart even criticized it. Now Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her idea and why she sold such a product.

Also how can we talk about Gwyneth Paltrow without talking about her best friend Robert Downey Jr. and if he will ever return to the MCU again.

It should be said that Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle company Goop is known for its bizarre products. But very few of their items have made people talk like the very subtly titled “This smells like my vagina candle.” But this actually exists. The candle’s official description says that.

Gwyneth Paltrow is selling a candle that smells like her vagina on her Goop website for £57 and it has already sold out
WELLNESS guru Gwyneth Paltrow is letting fans get up close and personal to her with the latest intimate product on her Goop website. The 47-year-old actress is selling a candle that smells like her vagina - and it’ll set you back a whopping £57.

The This Smells Like My Vagina candle is described as being “funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected.” Gwyneth even gave fans an explanation as to how the candle was created, in the product description.

The Goop website explains: “This candle started as a joke between perfumer Douglas Little and GP—the two were working on a fragrance, and she blurted out, “Uhhh..this smells like a vagina”—but evolved into a funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent. “(That turned out to be perfect as a candle—we did a test run at an In goop Health, and it sold out within hours.)

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop shop targeted by dung dumper who left a heap of manure on the doorstep
Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop shop had a heap of manure dumped on its doorstep

FIRST critics poo-pooed Gwyneth Paltrow’s new-age lifestyle business Goop — now someone has kicked up a stink at her West London shop. Two wheelbarrow-loads of manure were tipped overnight against the door in a posh street in Notting Hill. Flies were buzzing around the heap and passers-by were wretching as well as trying to solve the riddle.

One local resident told The Sun: “This is a smart parade of boutique shops with A-lister celebs such as Damon Albarn and Steven Spielberg very nearby. “Someone has it in for Gwyneth. It’s a real puzzle.

“The mess appeared overnight. It was left right up against the door and cannot be a coincidence.

Smells like mighty profits: it’s not just that Goop candle – four other products from Gwyneth Paltrow’s website that are right out there

Who can forget the Jade egg from Goop that women were supposed to insert in their bodies to “balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles, prevent uterine prolapse, and increase bladder control”? The wellness platform’s “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle is just its latest wacky product offering.

Goop, the New-Age wellness and lifestyle platform founded by actress Gwyneth Paltrow, is back in the news, this time making headlines with its US$75 candle called “This Smells Like My Vagina.” According to Goop, Paltrow and perfumer Douglas Little were collaborating on a new signature scent when Paltrow said, “Uhhh … this smells like a vagina”. Viola, the candle was born.

Last week the 47-year-old spoke to the National Retail Federation in the United States, and blamed sexism for the controversy about Goop, saying she “rubbed people the wrong way”. It’s true she divides opinion – people either love or loathe her. But there’s no doubting Paltrow’s marketing prowess – according to media reports, Goop is worth a staggering US$250 million.

Jimmy Kimmel Reveals What Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Vagina’ Candle Actually Smells Like
The candle is a lie

Actor and purveyor of jade eggs, Gwyneth Paltrow visited ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday to chat about her lifestyle brand Goop and her new Netflix show, “The Goop Lab.”

Things got real weird after Kimmel decided to bust out one of Goop’s best selling products — a $75 candle named “This Smells Like My Vagina” — and light it … right in front of Paltrow … for whom the candle is named … so the two could discuss … its scent. “So they didn’t do any, like, testing or anything like that to try to [find out what your vagina smells like]?” Kimmel said jokingly, bringing the lit candle up to his nose and taking a sniff.

“It smells nice … It smells a little bit masculine, really,” he continued, choosing his words carefully on national TV. “Like, woody — I dunno.” Ultimately, Kimmel alluded that the fragrance didn’t actually smell like anything resembling a vagina.

Gwyneth Paltrow Has Words for People Who Think ‘WAP’—Or Her Vagina Candles—Is Vulgar

Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop brand and products are no stranger to controversy—remember the “vagina steaming” hoopla from a few years back?—so all the press surrounding one of her new candles isn't a surprise. There's really nothing to make a fuss over; the candle is just called “Smells Like My Vagina.” But, of course, some people are up in arms about it. Scan Twitter, and you'll find messages from users dissing the candle or calling it “weird.” But Paltrow has a message for her detractors, as well as those who think Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's song “WAP” is vulgar.

People who take issue with Paltrow's candle probably have a problem with Cardi's song, which is an abbreviation for “wet ass pussy.” It all seems to stem from the discomfort a large subset of the population has with women owning their body and sexuality.

“It's all part of the crumbling patriarchy,” Paltrow tells Elle in a new interview. “And I think that we're all changing it by releasing, like, a punk rock, feminist candle and Cardi B is changing it by her incredible lyrical prowess. You have to push, you have to go too far. You have to have a ‘WAP’ song or a ‘Smells Like My Vagina’ candle. So people are like, ‘What is this?’ And they freak out. And then the center moves a little bit more this way. It's a process that happens over time. But women, especially my generation, and my mother's generation, we were raised to feel so uncomfortable with ourselves and it's bullshit. It's not cool. We have to be integrated and love ourselves, love every part and integrate all of the parts of ourselves. So I think it's a good part of the process.”

THIS CANDLE SMELLS LIKE MY VAGINA… OR DOES IT?
From fragrance brand Heretic Parfum, the “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle is a blend of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette (that is what your vagina smells like, right?).

According to Goop, the candle started as a joke between Heretic perfumer Douglas Little and Gwyneth Paltrow. The two were developing a fragrance together when Paltrow came out with: “Uhhh… this smells like a vagina.” It then evolved into a candle that costs $75 and is described by the brand as a beautifully unexpected scent that “puts us in mind of fantasy, seduction, and a sophisticated warmth.” Warmth indeed.

This candle really taps into the vagina-esque scents trend that we’ve been seeing recently. Glossier’s fragrance You, for example, which is designed to smell like… you and described as smelling like “that familiar human-y note” that’s “creamy” and “warm.” Or Escentric Molecules’ Molecule 01 which is described by perfumer Geza Schoen as “one of those skin-sexy scents that makes you want to nestle into it.”

The Internet Can’t Get Enough of Vagina-Scented Products

At the In Goop Health Summit in November, Gwyneth Paltrow unveiled a candle with a “beautifully unexpected scent.” With notes of geranium, bergamot and Damask rose, among others, the candle’s name claimed to smell like a vagina — though whose is unclear.

The This Smells Like My Vagina candle, $75, sold out in about an hour and a half, according to Douglas Little, founder of Heretic, the clean fragrance brand behind the candle and a handful of other Goop fragrances and scented products. The candle quickly became one of Heretic’s bestsellers — the New York Post’s Page Six even reported that Elton John bought “a lot” — and an Internet hit, prompting a variety of spin-off versions, including a penis-scented candle, priced at $100 as a statement on the gender pay gap.

“It’s the one time you want your vagina to go viral — and it went viral,” said Little. Goop’s candle, though, isn’t the only vagina-scented product flying off the shelves. On Feb. 22, Erykah Badu opened her online shop BaduWorldMarket, which sells an assortment of hoodies, T-shirts, clogs, records, tabi socks and crystal-infused water bottles that range in price from $30 to $125. The buzziest product was a pack of 20 incense sticks, which, according to the web site, were made with the ashes of Badu’s own underwear.

The Candle Smells Dirty, and I Like It

Among the minor things that greatly annoy me: hot dogs buns splitting into two pieces, someone else’s wet hair accidentally touching my arm, a sneeze that doesn’t live up to its full potential, and sweet-smelling candles. Sweet candles make me go into immediate migraine pose, except not for the ‘gram. Although I love baking and the smells it creates, any dessert-oriented candle gives me a blinding headache.

Maybe what I needed was a little dirt. Dirty Gingerbread is a gingerbread-baking-smell dupe. It smells like the home of your aunt who opens the oven to pull out a tray of cookies with an oven mitt on one hand and a glass of wine in the other — but it’s also extra spicy. The pepperiness is amped up, as are the nutmeg and cloves, and the vanilla is slightly tamped down. It creates a slightly sweet, but more piquant, fragrance that reminds me of the gingerbread from San Francisco’s legendary Tartine bakery, which are chewy with a bit of snap.

The scent was created by Douglas Little, perhaps best known as the perfumer for Goop’s vagina candle. The design of the box is brashly cheeky, featuring a gingerbread man dressed like a leather submissive in a harness and ball gag (it’s dirrrty, Christina Aguilera-style). If all this appeals to you, I highly recommend buying both the candle (did I mention it’s vegan?) and possibly also this collection of BDSM gingerbread cookie cutters to match. Happy naughty holidays.

NC woman warning others after candle explodes, nearly burns house down

A North Carolina woman is warning others after she said a candle in her home spewed flames and sent scalding wax flying. Valentine Chavis posted photos of the aftermath on Facebook. The photos show the candle charred and melted, where the hot wax splattered all around it.

Chavis said the candle was purchased from Bath & Body Works. In a statement, the company told WCNC:
“We are very sorry that this happened and are taking the situation extremely seriously. The safety of our customers is our number one priority. The company said decades of testing have proven the candles are safe if they’re used in accordance with the printed instructions, which include trimming the wicks to a quarter inch before lighting and never burning them for more than four hours".
Chavis said their candle had only been burning for about 30 minutes. “I am 44 years old," Chavis said. "I know how to light a candle." And their candle close call wasn’t the only one. Nest camera video from last year shows the moments when a candle shot flames right into Ashley Brawley’s face. She said she was trying to put out a six-inch flame on her Bath & Body Works candle when it exploded. She was rushed to the ER with 1st and 2nd-degree burns from the fire and scalding wax. Over the summer, Morgan Singer said her candle exploded after being lit for less than an hour. “I was just having wine sitting by the island and it popped up and exploded," she said. Charlotte Fire is now warning people to be aware of how quickly this could happen, and exactly why you should never leave candles unattended.

Vagina leaking clear & stretchy discharge

Vaginal discharge is the fluid that's released by cells present in the vagina and cervix. Its primary job is to remove the old cells and debris, thus keeping the vagina and reproductive tract clean, as well as maintaining a healthy pH balance.

While it is normal to notice chances in the colour or consistency of your vaginal discharge, as it can vary from day to day depending on the stage of your menstrual cycle, it can be worrisome if it is accompanied by discomfort.

Let's take a deeper look into

why that happens and when you should worry:
  • Changes in vaginal discharge during the ovulation period
  • Changes in vaginal discharge after ovulation
  • Changes in vaginal discharge during the menstrual cycle

COVID-19 Vaccines and the Menstrual Cycle
People have reported menstrual cycle changes after COVID-19 vaccines, but more research is needed to understand if they are related, which women may be affected, and the exact mechanisms for why

NICHD recently awarded five institutions one-year supplemental grants totaling $1.67 million to explore potential links between COVID-19 vaccination and menstrual changes. Researchers at Boston University, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, Michigan State University, and Oregon Health and Science University will investigate whether such changes may be linked to the COVID-19 vaccine itself or if they are coincidental, the mechanism underlying any vaccine-related changes, and how long any changes last.

Several of these studies will use blood, tissue, and saliva samples collected before and after vaccination to analyze any immune or hormone changes. Other studies will use established resources — such as large cohort studies and menstrual cycle tracking apps — to collect and analyze data from racially, ethnically, and geographically diverse populations. Two studies will focus on specific populations, including adolescents and people with endometriosis.

What you need to know - Increased stress, changes in weight and exercise, and other major lifestyle changes can affect menstrual cycles — and all of those changes are common during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, studies have shown that some women who had COVID-19 experienced changes in the duration and flow of their menstrual cycles. Some people have reported changes in their menstruation after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, including changes in duration, flow, and accompanying symptoms such as pain.

Vulva Health: Why women should take care of this most intimate feminine area
You should take care of your vulva as you would any part of your skin – that means keeping it clean and healthy. How often should you wash this intimate area? Can your sanitary pads or underwear affect vulva health? CNA Women asked doctors to shed light on what we need to know about caring for it

A friend sent a video from late-night television show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, to our WhatsApp group chat the other day.

It was titled “What Do You Know About The Female Body?” and had the production team hitting the streets to find out how much men knew about the female anatomy, in particular, the female reproductive system. Naturally, my girlfriends and I laughed when we saw the video because the men interviewed had no clue where or what things were. But at the back of my mind, I wondered how much we, as women, even know about our own anatomy, especially the goings-on down south.

How many of us know the difference between the vagina and the vulva, for instance? Or if it’s an area of the body we should give extra care to (or none at all)? And really, what should we be doing?
