Adidas promoted a new line of sports bras by posting pictures of 25 pairs of exposed breasts on its Twitter page. A photo grid of bare breasts accompanied Adidas' message that it believes in women's breasts "in all shapes and sizes."

"Support is everything. Whatever the sport, women deserve freedom and comfort to move however they choose," Adidas tweeted. "That's why we redesigned our sports bra collection to cater for more women, more bodies, more sports." The ad has gone viral and sparked mixed reviews. Some Twitter users expressed their dismay at the ad, claiming that it used women's bodies to make more money and suggested that the company show the product in its ads.

Adidas told CNN Business that the gallery was designed to show how diverse breasts are. The company emphasized the importance of sports bras in a press release this week, stating that it's the "single most important piece of workout apparel for those with breasts." According to Adidas, 90% of women aren't wearing the right-sized sports bra.

Breasts of all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort tailored to them. Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right sports bra for them.

In sport, everybody should feel free and inspired by what their bodies can achieve.

Adidas defends decision to tweet image of bare breasts
There appeared to be two schools of thought surrounding the campaign: Controversy around the blurring of nipples in the Instagram version of the ad as well as the use of bare breasts as 'titillation'

Adidas is defending its decision to tweet a grid photo of 25 different pairs of bare breasts to advertise its new sports bra collection. Here is the Tweet that links to the uncensored image.

The copy in the Tweet reads: "We believe women’s breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort. Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them." The image on Instagram, however, has been censored to abide by social media guidelines.

On Wednesday morning, the retailer tweeted the image linking to the collection and using the hashtag #SupportIsEverything in an effort to promote body positivity. But some Twitter users deem the tweet as NSFW, stating the imagery is not appropriate for younger users of the platform. Adidas' social media team has been busy directly responding to people who aren't fans of the ad or just don't understand the meaning behind it.

Adidas tweets 25 pairs of bare breasts to sell a new sports bra

Adidas will soon debut a new sports bra line, but one of its ads doesn't show the bra at all. Instead, Adidas tweeted a photo grid of 25 pairs of bare breasts in all their natural, diverse glory. The sports apparel company pinned the ad to its Twitter page Wednesday, under a link that connects to the bra collection for anyone who makes it that far. The ad's tagline: #SupportisEverything.

"We believe women's breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort," Adidas says in the campaign. "Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them." The ad was obviously meant to be an attention-grabber and, not surprisingly, it went viral. Adidas ignited plenty of discussion -- although perhaps not as much about sports bras or this specific new collection as the company might have hoped.

Women and men on Twitter both weighed in on Adidas' marketing ploy -- with decidedly mixed reactions. Some Twitter users, mostly women consumers, said they would have preferred to see the bras versus the breasts. Others said the ad was inappropriate, or that it caught them off-guard and confused them. And some users said it was bold and applauded Adidas for it.

Adidas Shares Image of 25 Women's Bare Breasts to Promote New Sports Bra: 'Support Is Everything'

Adidas is celebrating the diversity of women's bodies with an ad in promotion of the brand's new sports bra. Announcing the launch, Adidas tweeted an image featuring the bare breasts of 25 women in different shapes and sizes Wednesday.

"We believe women's breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort. Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them," the sportswear giant wrote alongside the image.

The tweet was pinned to the Adidas' Twitter page and included a link to the bra collection and the hashtag #Supportiseverything.

Adidas sports bra ad shows 25 people's bare breasts so 'everyone can find the right fit'

Adidas shocked the internet by posting a picture of 25 people's faceless bare breasts on Twitter to promote the company's new sports bra line.

The company believes "breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort. Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them," Adidas said in the tweet on Wednesday.

As the tweet went viral, some users applauded the move, while others did not agree with the exposure of breasts on social media. "As a father of two daughters that played sports this is way overdue. Thank you. A lot of girls give up sports because they can’t find the right fit to stay comfortable," one user shared.

Adidas Frees the Nipple With Its New Sports-Bra Campaign for Women
The German sportswear brand released an internet-breaking image of bare breasts to accompany a sports-bra collection of 43 diverse styles

Adidas launched its new sports-bra campaign today with an unusual image: a grid of 25 sets of bare breasts. Aside from the surprise factor of the nudity, the breasts shown are only remarkable because they are completely normal.

These are real breasts in all their perky, saggy, asymmetrical, varied forms. The advertising promotes a new sports-bra collection that includes plus-size options and pieces designed for different activities. The brand tweeted: “We believe women’s breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort.

Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them.” A statement released by the brand read, “The gallery was designed to show just how diverse breasts are, featuring different shapes and sizes that highlight why tailored support is paramount.

Abreast With Society: Adidas Frees the Nipple to Launch Inclusive Sports Bra Campaign

Followers of Adidas and other netizens had mixed emotions after Adidas took to social media on Wednesday to unveil its latest collection of sports bras.

Adidas released this message alongside a 5x5 image featuring 25 unique sets of breasts (*Be advised, the linked image may offend some parties):
"We believe women’s breasts in all shapes and sizes deserve support and comfort. Which is why our new sports bra range contains 43 styles, so everyone can find the right fit for them."
A full-size poster featuring additional sets of breasts was erected outside of the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. A post by @benmayorwhite applauded Adidas and Twitter user @HyperCait for their contribution to the campaign, which appears to have come about thanks to Adidas employees themselves. It's unclear if the employees who consented to the release were compensated. As expected, the nude campaign rollout against traditional sports bra sizes elicited both support and objection from those around the world.
