The next French President is 39 years old.
- But that is not the news.
- He is married to a 64 year-old, that is still not the news.
- His wife was his class teacher 24 years ago ... not still the news.
- His then class teacher had a daughter who was his class-mate ... everybody including his parents thought this teacher's daughter was his girlfriend ... nope they were wrong.
- He fell in love with his class teacher when he was 15 ... she was "happily married" with 3 kids ... now the "happily married" is relative in this context.
- At 17, he promised to marry her. She was at the time 42 years.
- They got married in 2007 with our man now 30 ... well she was almost 55.
His name is Emmanuel Macron (39) and he is the next President of France.

Brigitte Trogneux: From Macron's teacher to France's first lady
The relationship between French President-Elect Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Trogneux has captivated the world
There is nothing cliche about their story, which began when a 15-year-old Macron took part in a school play directed by Trogneux, 24 years his senior.
Trogneux went from being Macron's teacher to his partner, and eventually his wife. But through each phase, she has been his mentor and inspiration.
"Without her, I wouldn't be me," Macron, 39, declared after winning the first round of voting in April.

From teacher to lover to France's first lady: Meet 'Madame Macron'
Brigitte Trogneux (not actually Madame Macron), the wife of new President Emmanuel Macron, used to be his drama teacher. Here's a closer look at France's next first lady.
- So who is Brigitte Trogneux?
- In short, she is the 64-year-old wife of Emmanuel Macron. They've been married since 2007.
- She was once his high school teacher and she is 25 years his senior.
- Hang on, they met at high school?
- Yep. She used to be a French teacher at his private high school in Amiens, northern France.
- She also ran the theatre club where he was a budding actor. The picture above shows Macron's first "kiss" with Trogneux at the end of a theatre production.
- It seems like it was love at first sight - it's understood the pair used to have long discussions together - and she would read his writing out to the class.
- "She used to recite his work all the time. She was totally captivated by his writing skills," a former classmate told Le Parisien newspaper.
- A whole new level of "teacher's pet".
- When he moved to Paris at the age of 18, she jumped ship from her own family soon after and followed him down.
- She told Paris Match magazine: "At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me, 'Whatever you do, I will marry you!'"
- As for the age difference - a French study from September said that it's a trend right now for French women to take younger lovers, so who cares?
- Well, actually, Macron's parents did. They asked the then 40-year-old Trogneux to stay away from their 16-year-old son, at least until he turned 18, according to a new biography about the presidential candidate.

EMMANUEL MACRON AND THE MODERN FAMILY

The “lowest blow,” according to the French magazine Marianne, came somewhere around the twenty-minute mark of a psychologically violent debate that took place in Paris on Wednesday night between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, ahead of this Sunday’s second and final round of the French Presidential election.
Unluckily for Le Pen, who is behind in the polls, the conversation was stalled on economic issues. After she confused two major companies—“One makes phones, the other makes turbines,” Macron offered—she appeared desperate to change the subject. The possibility of creating a sovereign investment fund for the French state came up, and, as Macron began to explain in goat-gettingly didactic tones why that probably wasn’t a good idea, Le Pen attacked.
“I see you’re looking to play student and teacher with me, but, as far as I’m concerned, that’s not really my thing,” she said.

As his drama teacher, Brigitte Trogneux directed Emmanuel Macron’s stage debut in a school play at the age of 15. As his wife, she mentored, coached and advised him during his presidential campaign.
As first lady, she will assume a powerful role that Mr Macron’s aides compare to that of Michelle Obama during her time in the White House.
He often refers to his wife, who is 24 years his senior, as his intellectual soulmate and confidante. Mr Macron, 39, says he will govern more effectively if he is happy — and that means having Brigitte at his side.

Brigitte Trogneux: France's new First Lady - in 60 seconds
Brigitte Trogneux has long been Emmanuel Macron's greatest champion. The couple met in 1992, when Macron was just 15 years old, and a pupil at a private school in Amiens.
Brigitte, born into a wealthy family of chocolatiers in 1953, was his literature teacher, and a married mother of three. Much has been made of their romance, and of the fact that Macron was just 17 when he declared his intention to marry Brigitte. Macron's parents, worried about the budding love affair, sent him away for his last year of high school. Brigitte eventually divorced and joined him in Paris.
The couple married in 2007. They have no children together but Macron says his wife's three children and seven grandchildren are his family.

And what a groundbreaking victory it would be for this independent candidate! Here’s everything you need to know about the man with presidential potential, including his wife and net worth, in Emmanuel Macron’s wiki.
Cementing His Rise
While there have been a few frontrunners for France’s presidency, the first round of the French election results show that Emmanuel Macron’s rise is very swift. He began his professional career as an Inspector of Finances in the French Ministry of Economy in 2004. From there, he served as deputy rapporteur for the Commission to improve French economic growth, headed by Jacques Attali in 2007.
Macron took a break from his civil service by paying €50,000 to buy himself out of his government contract in 2008. He then worked as an highly-paid investment banker in Rothschild & Cie Banque.

Emmanuel Macron
Macron is married to Brigitte Trogneux, 24 years his senior, who was his teacher in La Providence High School in Amiens. They first met when he was a 15-year-old student in her class, and she was 39, but were officially a couple only after he turned 17.
His parents initially attempted to separate the couple by sending him away to Paris to finish the final year of his schooling, as they felt his youth made this relationship inappropriate, but the couple stayed together after he graduated, and they married in 2007. Macron has three step-children, Sébastien (born 1975), Laurence (born 1977), and Tiphaine (born 1984).
His best man was Henry Hermand (1924–2016), a businessman who loaned €550,000 to Macron for the purchase of his first apartment in Paris when he was Inspector of Finances. Hermand also let Macron use some of his offices on the Avenue des Champs Élysées in Paris for his movement En Marche!
