NUS probes students for alleged stripping


Incident reportedly occurred during unofficial orientation outing in Sentosa

 2 years after sexualised orientation games at the National University of Singapore (NUS) sparked a public furore, some of its students may find themselves in hot water again, this time by allegedly stripping naked.

 The incident occurred during an unofficial orientation outing to Sentosa earlier this month when some seniors & freshmen took off their clothes in the sea while playing a game.

 NUS told The New Paper that it is now investigating the students for inappropriate behaviour.

 Earlier this month, during an unofficial outing in Sentosa, students of National University of Singapore (NUS) allegedly took their clothes off while playing a game. But, now those students, including some seniors & fresher are under investigation for their inappropriate behaviour.

 Reports stated that on June 4 almost 50 NUS students went to visit Siloso Beach, where some of them allegedly stripped naked. Prior to that on June 2 & 3 students participated in Camp Blue Blood, which is an orientation camp organised by Kent Ridge Hall. Later, they received the invitation for the Siloso Beach outing. Those students were also asked to wear something that would identify them as the students of NUS.

 National University of Singapore will take serious actions against those students, who were involved in public nudity activity.

 Students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) allegedly stripped naked in the waters at Siloso Beach Sentosa on June 4 as part of an unofficial orientation game they were playing.

 Their nakedness has since led to the school investigating matters because not wearing clothes in public is inappropriate and unbecoming, never mind that all of them are adults.

 It has been reported that students from the National University of Singapore stripped naked in the water at Siloso Beach in Sentosa on June 4, as part of unofficial orientation activities.

 While the students are adults, in the eyes of the law, public nudity is an offence. The university told media that they were investigating the incident, where about 50 students took part in the orientation outing.

 Prior to the outing, the students were told not to wear anything that would identify them as NUS students.

 NUS investigating after students allegedly stripped in the sea as part of game

 The National University of Singapore (NUS) is looking into an incident where its students allegedly took part in a game that involved stripping in the sea.

 The incident, involving students from NUS' Kent Ridge Hall, is said to have taken place at Siloso beach on Sentosa on June 4, one day after the hall's orientation camp ended.

 Students who were present told The Straits Times that the objective of the game was for teams to lay out the longest line of clothes on the beach. To do this, they waded into the water to take off their clothes.

 Students' 'lap dance' at CCA camp not part of approved programme, says Ngee Ann Poly

 Stomp contributor Dave alerted Stomp to a video showing a female student performing a sexually suggestive dance in front of a male student during a school camp at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

 According to Dave, the video was circulated on Facebook, although it appeared to have been originally uploaded as an Instagram Story.

 In the video, a girl in a red T-shirt is seen giving a boy a lap dance, while other students around them are seen capturing the moment on their phones.

 As the music played, she walked up to a male student seated on a chair & began gyrating her hips seductively.

 In the video clip, which was captured in a classroom, the female student is seen busting her moves over the male student while he appears flustered, even lowering his head at one point.

 The video was taken during a co-curricular activity camp at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) last week.

The National University of S'pore (NUS) has taken action against at least 14 undergraduates for their role in inappropriate orientation activities in July, The Straits Times has learnt.

Sources said the punishments included warnings without record & mandatory community service. The duration of the community service was not known.

It is understood that they were involved in organising or facilitating orientation camps, among them for the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences & the NUS Students' Union.



 Sexualized Freshman Orientations at NUS

When National University of Singapore (NUS) freshman Rachel Lee turned up at an orientation camp in campus last month, she got a rude shock. During one of the games, she was made to do a forfeit where the "girls had to lie down and the guys had to do push-ups over them", she said.

Ms Lee, 19, declined to comply - she felt the act was lewd. Another game she observed required participants to pass M&M chocolates to one another using their mouths.
