A 37-yr-old mother of five was jailed for 4 months yesterday for stealing 80 tins of milk powder from supermarkets in the western part of Singapore.

Housewife Noris Ithnin pleaded guilty to 6 charges. 10 others were taken into consideration.

Court documents showed she committed the offences over about 1 1/2 years, including twice while out on bail. The value of the stolen milk powder was about $5,676.

Man arrested for serial theft of milk powder

A 34-yr-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a series of milk powder thefts at supermarkets islandwide, police said in a press release on Tuesday (Mar 21).

Police received a report on Mar 6, informing them that 24 tins of milk powder had been stolen from a supermarket along Turf Club Road.

Officers from Tanglin Division conducted extensive investigations which culminated in the arrest of the suspect along Sixth Avenue on March 20.

Man arrested after stealing 200 tins of milk powder

A man was arrested on Monday (Mar 20) after a report was made on a theft of 24 tins of milk powder at a Turf Club Road supermarket 2 weeks ago.

A search at the 34-yr-old’s home found about 200 tins of milk powder with an estimated value of over S$10,000, the police said on Tuesday, linking him to other cases of milk powder thefts at supermarkets island-wide.

TODAY understands that the suspect had intended to sell the milk powder he amassed.

Suspected serial milk powder thief arrested

A 34-yr-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a series of milk powder thefts at supermarkets islandwide, police said on Tuesday (Mar 21).

On Mar 6, police received a report that 24 tins of milk powder had been stolen from a supermarket along Turf Club Road. The suspect was arrested along 6th Avenue on Monday.

About 200 tins of milk powder with an estimated value of more than S$10,000 were seized from his home.

Man jailed six months for stealing $6,300 worth of milk powder

A man who stole milk powder some 2 months after his release from a long prison term was jailed for 6 months on Thursday.

Teo Chuan Beng, 57, who faced 9 charges of stealing milk powder totalling $6,323 from supermarkets, admitted to 5 charges of theft.

The cases against his alleged accomplices, Soo Guan Khwee, 42, & Lim Soon Huat, 69, both unemployed, have yet to be dealt with.
